Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Macro Polo website at getmacropolo.com, including our blog. Macro Polo is a product of Egghead Labs, a micro enterprise registered under the Udyam scheme (Government of India), based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This policy does not cover the Macro Polo app, which is still in development. When the app launches it will have its own privacy policy, because an app that tracks your meals needs a much longer one than a website that does not.

The short version

This website has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no cookies, and no advertising trackers. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or anything that identifies you personally. The only measurement we run is cookieless, aggregated analytics.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It is cookieless by design: it does not set cookies, does not use localStorage, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across other websites. We see aggregated numbers such as page views, referrers, country, and browser type. We cannot identify individual visitors from it.

Server logs. Like almost every website, the infrastructure that serves these pages (Netlify, our hosting provider, and Cloudflare, which provides our DNS and security layer) processes your IP address and browser information for the technical purpose of delivering the page, preventing abuse, and keeping the site online. These logs are held by those providers for short periods under their own policies and are not used by us to identify or profile you.

What we do not do

We do not sell data. We do not share data with advertisers. We do not run third-party ad or social media trackers. We do not send marketing email, because we do not have your email. Our fonts are self-hosted, so viewing this site does not send requests to font networks.

Legal basis and applicable law

Egghead Labs is based in India, and this site is operated in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). Because the site does not collect personal data from you directly, and our analytics are aggregated and cookieless, our processing footprint is deliberately minimal. Where transient technical processing of your IP address occurs (see server logs above), it is limited to what is necessary to provide the site securely.

If you are visiting from outside India, the same minimal-collection approach applies to you. We do not process personal data in ways that would require a consent banner under the EU GDPR or ePrivacy rules.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have rights over personal data, including the right to know what is processed, to correction and erasure, and to grievance redressal. Since we hold no personal data about visitors, there is usually nothing for us to look up, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold something about you, or you have any question about this policy, write to us and we will respond: privacy@getmacropolo.com.

Children

This website is general-audience marketing content. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe we have somehow come to hold data about a minor, or you are a parent or guardian with any concern, email privacy@getmacropolo.com and we will investigate and delete the data without delay. The same address works for any privacy complaint; under the DPDP Act you may also escalate unresolved grievances to the Data Protection Board of India.

Changes

If we add anything that collects data (for example a waitlist form for the app), we will update this policy before it goes live and change the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
